Food Solutions: A Whole Foods Approach to Wellness Workshops

The Urban Zen Center presents Food Solutions: A Whole Foods Approach to Wellness, six workshops that give you the practical tools to make food lifestyle change.

In January, the Urban Zen Foundation, in partnership with The Palette Fund, kicked off a series of ground-breaking, inspirational workshops focused on educating the Urban Zen community and beyond about navigating and restoring health through food. The workshops are under the direction of Amanda Archibald, RD and Culinary Nutritionist, Stefanie Bryn Sacks, MS.

The series consists of six one-day workshops presented over the course of 2010.  Each workshop will focus on a specific hot health topic that advocates dietary change as part of the healing plan. Panel discussions led by experts in the field, practical hands-on learning—in the kitchen—and food education activities are a vital part of this life-changing workshop experience.  Click here to check out the next seminar on July 28th.

Natural Gourmet Institute Scholarship

The Natural Gourmet Institute is dedicated to providing leadership in health-supportive culinary arts and theory. The school’s philosophy is based on the well-established belief that the food we eat has significant impact on our health.

The School’s Chef Training Program was created in response to the increasing demand for chefs who are skilled in the art of food preparation that is both health-supportive and pleasing to the eye and palate. The curriculum features whole, fresh, unprocessed foods with emphasis on plant-based cuisine.

The Palette Fund offers partial culinary scholarships to attend the Chef’s Training Program at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts.
