Advocates for Youth

Region: National
Grant duration: Three Years
Amount: $75,000

Advocates for Youth is a national nonprofit dedicated to helping youth make responsible decisions about their sexual health. Sexual health equity is one of the most important issues to Millennials and Generation Z, given that they recognize that sexual health disparity is driven by stigma and discrimination, homophobia, transphobia, racism and poverty. The engagement opportunities around these issues provided by Advocates both on social media and through on the ground activism help diversify the Youth Activist Network and the pipeline of young leaders poised to take over the field and the greater progressive movement. The goal of this work is to improve the lives of LGBT youth by advancing programs and policies that recognize their human rights and ensure social, economic, and educational equity.

Advocates will deepen its work to realize health and social equity for all young people by supporting LGBT youth as powerful advocates for themselves to advance programs and policies that recognize their rights to total cultural and family acceptance, safe communities, and equitable social and economic opportunities.

The Palette Fund's multi-year funding will support Speak Out: LGBT Youth Development to Advance Sexual Health and Rights.
