True Colors Fund

The Palette Fund is proud to support True Colors Fund since its inception. What started out initially as a $10,000 grant for a joint collaboration in researching the national landscape of LGBT runaway and homeless youth organizations flourished into an amazing relationship. In 2012, True Colors Fund received a three year grant for $75,000 to be used for general operating expenses related to the Forty to None Project, the first national organization solely dedicated to raising awareness about and helping to bring an end to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth homelessness. 

With Palette Fund’s support, the True Colors Fund has achieved significant organization capacity development. The first three years were focused on cementing TCF's mission, developing its programs, and establishing its constituent base. True Colors Fund's budget has more than tripled over the past four years and they have grown from a staff of one to six over the past two years.

In 2015, an extension of a three year grant for the True Fellowship initiative will “increase the pipeline of young people prepared to take on pivotal roles in the private and public sectors” – another focus of The Palette Fund. 

Specific results to be realized with The Palette Fund’s support include:

 - Providing seven young people intensive community organizing training
 - Offering young people opportunities to lead community organizing projects in their respective local communities that work to end LGBT youth homelessness
 - Delivering technical assistance to both the Fellows and Community Partner in each community throughout the entire Fellowship process
 - Building and maintaining working relationships with local community based organizations across the country infused by youth collaborations
 - Bringing all seven young people to the Forty to None Summit to present their work
