Polaris Project

Region: National
Grant duration: Four Years
Amount: $75,000

In 2015, Polaris received a two year grant for $30,000. In 2017, The Palette Fund renewed the grant for an additional four years with a total award of $75,000. Polaris will continue to build on their previous work with additional goals in mind. Polaris will continue to partner with LGBTQ support community professionals addressing how and where labor and sex trafficking occurs across the USA, with a focus on LGBTQ experience with respect to human trafficking. Polaris will look to the network of Palette grantees, including Lambda Legal, the Hetrick-Martin Institute, True Colors Fund, as well as service providers identified through the NHTRC, to learn about best practices articulated by the LGBTQ support community for working with and supporting LGBTQ youth in need. An in depth lens into LGBTQ homeless youth will also be studied.
